How to open a page in Elementor

Elementor shows your page the way visitors see it, with the editing tools beside it. This lesson is a look around before you change anything.

You'll learn

How to open the editor and what each part of the screen is for

Takes

About 5 minutes

You'll need

To be logged in to your website

1

Open a page

In the dashboard, click Pages. Hover over the page you want and click Edit with Elementor. Give it a few seconds to load.

2

The page itself

The large area on the right is your page. Move your mouse over it and you’ll see outlines appear around each part. Click something to select it.

3

The panel on the left

When you click something on the page, its settings appear here. Most things have three tabs: Content for what it says, Style for how it looks, and Advanced for spacing.

4

The bar across the top

This holds the main tools. The plus adds new items, Structure shows a list of everything on the page, the screen icon switches between desktop, tablet and phone, the eye previews the page, and Publish makes your changes live.

5

Leave the editor

Click the Elementor logo at the top left and choose Exit to WordPress. If you haven’t published, nothing on your live site has changed.

Common mistakes

There's no Edit with Elementor link.

That page may not be built with Elementor, or your login may not have permission. Ask us.

The editor won't load.

Refresh the page. If it still sticks, try a different browser such as Chrome, and tell us if it keeps happening.

The panel on the left has disappeared.

Move your mouse to the far left edge of the screen and click the small arrow to bring it back.

Still stuck?

Tell us which page it’s on and what you’re trying to do. We can talk you through it or make the change for you.
