How to edit text in Elementor
Changing words is the job you’ll do most. You can type straight onto the page, which makes it feel like editing a document.
How to change headings and paragraphs on any page
The new wording you want to use
Watch: “How to Use the Heading Widget”, an official video from Elementor. It shows the same job on their own demo site, so your screen may look a little different. The written steps below are the ones to follow.
Open the page in Elementor
Go to Pages, hover over the page and click Edit with Elementor.
Click the text you want to change
Click once on the heading or paragraph. A blue outline appears, and the same words show in a box in the panel on the left.
Type your changes
Edit the words in the box on the left, or click into the text on the page and type there. Both do the same thing, and the page updates as you type.
Format with care
For paragraphs you’ll see buttons for bold, italic and links above the box. Use bold sparingly. Leave fonts, sizes and colours as they are so the page stays consistent.
Publish
Click Publish at the top right. Your new wording is live.
Common mistakes
I pasted from Word and the text looks different.
Word brings its own fonts and colours with it. Paste as plain text with Ctrl + Shift + V, or Cmd + Shift + V on a Mac.
My new heading is longer and now runs onto three lines.
Shorten it. Headings were sized for roughly the number of words that were there.
I deleted a whole block by accident.
Press Ctrl + Z or Cmd + Z straight away to bring it back.
