How to use revisions and history

Elementor keeps a record of what you’ve done. Actions is everything you’ve changed since you opened the page. Revisions are the versions saved each time you published.

You'll learn

How to step back through your changes or restore an earlier version of a page

Takes

About 4 minutes

You'll need

A page open in Elementor

1

Open History

Press Ctrl + Shift + H, or Cmd + Shift + H on a Mac. You’ll also find History in the menu under the Elementor logo at the top left.

2

Step back through this session

On the Actions tab, each change you’ve made is listed with the newest at the top. Click an earlier line and the page goes back to that point.

3

Look at earlier saved versions

Click the Revisions tab. Each entry shows the date, the time and who saved it.

4

Restore one

Click a revision to see how the page looked. If it’s the one you want, click Apply.

5

Publish

The restored version isn’t live until you click Publish.

Common mistakes

The Actions list is empty.

It only covers the time since you opened the editor. Use Revisions for anything older.

I applied the wrong revision.

Click a different one and apply that instead. Nothing is lost.

The version I need isn't listed.

It may be older than the revisions kept. Ask us and we can look in the backups.

Still stuck?

Tell us which page it’s on and what you’re trying to do. We can talk you through it or make the change for you.
