How to edit buttons and links
Buttons tell visitors what to do next. Each one has two parts you can change: the words on it and the place it leads to.
How to change what a button says and where it takes people
The page or web address you want to link to
Watch: “How to Use the Button Widget in Elementor”, an official video from Elementor. It shows the same job on their own demo site, so your screen may look a little different. The written steps below are the ones to follow.
Open the page and click the button
Open the page in Elementor and click the button once. Its settings appear on the left.
Change the wording
Type the new words into the Text box. Keep it short and say what happens next, such as “Get a quote” or “Book a visit”.
Change where it goes
Click into the Link box. To link to one of your own pages, start typing its name and pick it from the list. To link elsewhere, paste the full web address, starting with https.
Link to a phone number or email
Type tel: followed by your number with no spaces, or mailto: followed by your email address. On a phone, the button then starts a call or opens a new email.
Add a link to words in a paragraph
Highlight the words, click the chain icon above the text box, paste the address and press Enter.
Publish and test
Click Publish, then open your live page and click the button to make sure it goes where you expect.
Common mistakes
The button goes to a "page not found" message.
The address has a typing mistake. Pick the page from the list rather than typing it out.
The link opens in the same tab and people leave my site.
Click the cog beside the Link box and tick Open in new window. Only do this for links to other websites.
I changed the button colour and it no longer matches.
Press Ctrl + Z or Cmd + Z. Button colours are set for the whole site.
