How to update your opening hours and contact details

Contact details usually appear in more than one place: the top of the site, the bottom and the contact page. Miss one and customers get mixed messages.

You'll learn

How to change your hours, phone number, email or address everywhere they appear

Takes

About 5 minutes

You'll need

Your new details, and to be logged in

Watch: “Customize Your WordPress Theme with Elementor Pro”, an official video from Elementor. It shows the same job on their own demo site, so your screen may look a little different. The written steps below are the ones to follow.

1

List where they appear

Open your website and note every place the detail shows. Check the top of the page, the footer and the contact page.

2

Change the contact page

Open it in Elementor, click the text and type the new details. Publish.

3

Change the footer

Open any page in Elementor, scroll to the bottom and click the footer. Click the Edit Footer handle that appears. Change the details and click Publish. The footer is shared, so this updates every page.

4

Change the header

If your details show at the top of the site, do the same there using Edit Header.

5

Fix the links too

A phone number is often a link. Click it, and check the Link box holds the new number after tel:.

6

Update Google

Change the same details on your Google Business Profile, so the search results and maps match your website.

Common mistakes

Hover over it and look for the Edit Footer handle. If there isn’t one, tell us what needs changing.

The number looks right but calls the old one.

The words changed but the link didn’t. Update the Link box as well.

Christmas or bank holiday hours.

Add a line of text on the contact page, and remember to take it off afterwards.

Still stuck?
