How to add and arrange widgets
A widget is a single item on your page, such as a heading, an image or a button. You build a page by dropping widgets into containers.
How to add a new heading, paragraph, image or button to a page
Watch: “Add a container with a widget”, an official video from Elementor. It shows the same job on their own demo site, so your screen may look a little different. The written steps below are the ones to follow.
Open the widget list
Click the plus in the top bar. The panel on the left shows every widget you can use.
Find the one you want
Type into the search box, for example “heading” or “button”.
Drag it onto the page
Hold the mouse button down on the widget, drag it across to the page and let go when a blue line shows where it will land.
Fill it in
The widget’s settings open on the left. Add your words or choose your image.
Move it
Click and drag a widget to a new position, or drag its line in Structure.
Remove it
Right-click the widget and choose Delete.
Common mistakes
My new widget looks different from the rest of the page.
Don’t start from blank. Duplicate a similar item that’s already on the page and change its contents.
It landed in the wrong box.
Drag it again and watch for the blue line, or move it in Structure.
I can't find a widget mentioned in a lesson.
Some widgets come with Elementor Pro or with other plugins. Ask us whether your site has it.
